Belgium

A small but densely populated, Belgium is located in an area of ??north-west Europe, once called the Netherlands and now known as the Benelux region (mainly due to the economic partnership between Belgium and its neighbors Luxembourg and the Netherlands). situated the southern tip of the North Sea, which borders the Netherlands to the northeast, Germany to the east, Luxembourg south-east, and France in the west and southwest.
With its central location and with few natural boundaries, Belgium has been called the crossroads of Europe. For most of its history has been a battleground for great European powers of France, Britain and Germany. Its capital, Brussels, is the seat of both the North Atlantic Organizazion Treaty (NATO) et Europe Union (EU), and is located 621 miles (1,000 km) of most other western European capitals. Belgium's central location also has made a major Western European and financial mall. Belgium is located on the Eurasian tectonic plate. It can be divided into three major geographical regions: the coastal plain to the north-west, a region of low central plateau, and the Ardennes uplands in the south-east. a large levee system allowed the Belgian to recover substantial amount of land from the sea. Rivers flow throughout the country, and there are many canals in the plains and central plateau.
